Bangladesh General Insurance Company Ltd. being the First General Insurance Company in Bangladesh took a pioneering initiative to act as a Trustee of Mutual Funds and Bonds issued by various organizations in the country. This was done in line with our willingness and dedication to contribute to the economy of our country and support in the development of new creative ideas for the betterment of our Nation and Capital Market Industry.

We had taken up this challenge back in the year 2000 when most of the corporate organizations of our country kept away from taking the initiative of becoming a Trustee of Mutual Funds due to their lack of knowledge regarding Mutual Funds and its legal framework, ability to take up challenges and willingness to support new ideas. Our company on the other hand took a bold decision to become a Trustee by overcoming all the challenges that came along the way and created a platform for others to join the industry.

Within a short time Mutual Funds became a lucrative mode of investment for both corporate and individual investors and BGIC’s service to its clients and the Unitholders of Mutual Funds and the Bondholders did not get unnoticed. We have not only restricted ourselves to be Trustee of Mutual Funds but have also diversified which enabled us to be appointed as Trustee of various Bonds like Subordinated, Zero Coupon, Sukok, Convertible Bonds issued by different banks and organizations in the local market.

Our Company’s motto “Service is our Strength” was upheld not only in our core business of General Insurance but also the same standard has been kept in the Trustee operations. By providing fast, efficient, supportive & reliable quality service to name a few; BGIC has been able to create an unmatched position for itself to act as Trustee of Mutual Funds and various Bonds.
